Prompt of the Day:

Ink drawing

Drawing by: Valia Dempsey

About Inktober

Every October, artists from all over the world participate in the month long drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. There is a prompt for each day of the challenge that outlines a theme for the participant can use to base their drawings. Inktober started in 2009 created by Jake Parker, an illustrator whose work includes animated films, comics, and picture books.

Inktober helps artist improve design skills, develop positive drawing habits, and boost creativity. Thousands of artists take on the challenge each year, which has helped contributed to almost 4 million #inktober posts on instagram, and over 150,000 followers on Instagram and Twitter.

You don’t have to be an artist to do Inktober, just pick up a pen and start drawing!
